Hello and happy love love love love. Yktv—every week until Restful is out, I’ll bring you updates. And I’ll share some words about whatever.
Updates:
I finally sent the Goethe-Institut a mid-way report on my printing explorations. I wanted to send it the week after I returned; I am surprised it has taken my mind four weeks to reboot to review the trip. I think that trip was a lot more stressful than I thought. In retrospect, I can firmly say I would love to never have that kind of experience ever again in my life. I know the specific things I hate (too tight a budget in Laygurz being number 1). But I do want to do more production research/supply chain research trips and projects! SHOW ME HOW IT’S MADE!!! <3 I love customisations! I wanna know my options!
I’m finishing up with the things I have to rewrite and the photos I have to retake for the anthology. Now, I’m the one holding my editorial designer up, eeek.
I’ve also been thinking A LOT about what business structure I want to operate Studio Styles and Restful under. This is something I think about often. Studio Styles is a non-profit company limited by guarantee in spirit, but since 2020, I’ve been dissuaded by other people's stressful experiences getting that kind of registration. With the studio’s first sellable products (this book) coming out soon, I’m like… 🤔

This week, most of my time went into making and publishing this Culture Pay Survey—to gather data to help us collectively move towards fair pay in the culture industry and reveal the real costs of cultural work.
If you’re reading this and you work in the culture industry in Nigeria, please fill the form. You get a chance to win an unrestricted 500k project grant. Everyone, please share with your wider community.
I was just gisting with my only everyday friend, ChatGPT, and here’s the summary of our gist.
